Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services: Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs. Our practice is limited to cats and dogs of all sizes and breeds. We promote preventative care to help protect your pet from serious illness. We also care for sick and injured pets and do routine surgeries as well as emergency surgeries.
Surgical Services: Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures, including laser (laser is available only at Community Animal Hospital). Spays and neuters are done on weekdays and usually go home the same day.
Anesthesia: We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide that extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored and fluids are administered during all anesthetic procedures.
Radiology Services: Our on-site, modern X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs (x-rays) to aid in the diagnosis of many disorders. We also offer in-house ultrasound (available at Community Animal Hospital only). An appointment with a board certified radiologist specializing in ultrasonography can also be arranged for challenging diagnostic cases.
Electrocardiography Services: We provide ECG services on-site as well as consultations with cardiology specialists.
Laboratory: Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.
Pharmacy: We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet.
Dentistry: Our dental services include teeth cleaning and polishing, tooth extractions and oral surgery.
Flea Control Programs: We will review with you the best ways to control fleas in your house, in your yard and on your pet.
Pet Food: We recommend Hill's Science Diet for the best nutritional care for your pet. We carry the most commonly used Hill's products but can order any Hill's product that you may need if we don't have it in stock.
Dietary Counseling: We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.
Behavioral Counseling: Our doctors and technicians can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.
Boarding: We provide pet boarding as a service to our clients. All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff. We have indoor and outdoor "runs" and a large fenced exercise area at our Knightdale facility. Owners are welcome to bring many of the comforts of home with their boarding pet to make his or her stay more comfortable. Our boarding fees include food, but you may bring your own to prevent a diet change. Pets may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours Monday through Saturday.
Bathing and Grooming: We offer full grooming services at our Knightdale facility. Our groomer can perform routine shave-downs as well as breed-specific cuts. Our grooming fees include bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, and anal gland expression.
Emergency Care: We accept emergencies during our regular office hours. If possible, please call ahead so our team can be prepared for your pet's arrival. Please call our main telephone number for instructions for after-hour emergencies.
Appointments: Please call for appointments Monday through Saturday for veterinary visits and/or grooming. For your convenience, we can combine vet visits with grooming in the same day at Knightdale Animal Hospital only.
